This Distinctive Dutch Colonial nestled in the north shore of Lake Geneva, WI was furnished by Design Consultant, Patti Allen of Allen and James Interiors at Furnitureland South. The home’s furnishings are amplified by its wonderful architectural details, and every living area has an amazing panoramic view, creating a light, bright and open interior. Patti worked with her client to establish a relaxed, classic look, choosing the comfort and durability of Sunbrella fabrics to protect the family’s high traffic areas … and to look great for years to come. Patti selected classic Bentley Churchill chairs in dramatic blues to anchor the living room and draw attention to the floor-to-ceiling bookcase. These chairs also create a nice contrast to the calming, neutral tone of the Huntington House sofa, and are accented by a round Vanguard table with elegant, tapered legs. Clean and simple lines are Patti’s trademark in design. In this space, she doesn’t force the furniture to be the focal point, as architectural elements and amazing views create the artwork in this room – the furniture simply becomes the perfect frame for the space. The adjoining foyer needed a simple, functional piece with an antique feel. Patti selected a Jonathan Charles bench with classic, blue printed pillows to tie in the living room. The kitchen serves as the heart of this home; it is where friends and family congregate to share holidays, special events and nightly dinners. It is open to the living room and shares its amazing views. Patti incorporated a custom table and barstools by Chaddock with a rich, antique patina that is the perfect contrast to the crisp moldings and cabinetry. Finally, the sunroom is simple, colorful and stately. Partnering with Sunbrella and Lloyd Flanders, Patti featured a colorful palette of yellow and blue fabrics against a contrasting espresso wood finish, creating a perfect setting for enjoying the view of the shore.
